Drivers Fine Tune Cars In Opening Macon Speedway Test

More Testing On Schedule This Weekend
(Macon, IL) The opening test and tune of the 2019 season was held this past Saturday, March 23 at Macon Speedway.  The turnout far exceeded expectations, as over 30 participants brought their cars out for the first of many times this racing season.  More testing will continue this coming weekend.
Of the 30+ cars that were on track, a good number of Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models were on hand with Cody Maguire, Jarrod Shasteen, Shane Beiler,  Colby Eiler, and Colby Sheppard taking to the track.
The BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds were led by veteran driver, Rodney Standerfer.  The many time feature winner debuted his new car and made great strides throughout the day.
Plenty of Neal Tire & Auto Pro Modifieds were in the house and many of them were new names and faces, which is a great sign for the division.  The test was very important for them, as valuable track time was garnered throughout the day.
Veteran Terry Reed, Jr. led the list of Archer’s Alley Street Stocks at the track.  Reed had a couple of cars on track, while a couple of other Street Stocks were also getting some laps.
In other divisions, Mike Pickering was on hand with his Sportsman, while the Dart family was gaining plenty of laps in one of several Hornets that were pitside.  A number of Micros by Bailey Chassis were also on track.
The day didn’t go without a few issues and mishaps as the #0 Micro driven by Donnie Holleran got on its side, Jeremy Reed’s Street Stock had its engine expire, and William Lowe’s Pro Modified had an engine issue.
Cars will be back on track this Sunday, March 31 at Macon Speedway, while the Saturday, March 30 test will take place at Lincoln Speedway.
Lincoln Speedway’s 16th season opener will be held on Friday, April 12.  Five divisions are set for the opener with DIRTcar Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Midwest Stock Car Tour Street Stocks, Hornets, and the Nutech Seed DII Midgets presented by Bailey Chassis.
Macon Speedway’s 74th season opener will be held on Saturday, April 13.  There will be driver autographs before the races plus CEFCU Kids Club on Millikin University Night.  In action will be the Decatur Building Trades Pro Late Models, BillingsleyRewards.com Modifieds, Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mods, Archer’s Alley Street Stocks, Hornets, and Micros By Bailey Chassis.
