St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 At Macon Speedway Postponed
Lucas Oil Late Models Rescheduled To Tuesday, July 26
Macon Speedway officials along with those from the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series have decided to pull the plug on the April 30 running of the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100, due to overnight rains and the abysmal forecast for the 1/5-mile facility.
Officials had hoped to see a change in Saturday's forecast but various weather models stayed consistent with a near 100% chance for a major portion of the day.
Track promoter Bob Sargent stated, "We were holding out hope that forecasters were wrong all week but it just wasn't meant to be. Now, we will regroup and look forward to the make-up date."
The 3rd running of the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 will now be held on Tuesday, July 26 as part of a big week of Late Model racing in the midwest. In addition to the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models, the Bilingsley Towing Modifieds and B-Mods are also on the card.
The next event on the Macon Speedway schedule is next Saturday, May 7 with six divisions of action. Headlining the event will be the $1,000 to win Hornet Challenge and the season opener for the Midwest Big Ten Series Pro Late Models. Modifieds, Street Stocks, B-Mods, and Sportsman will also
race.
Pits will open next Saturday at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps will begin at 6:00 shortly after the pill draw ends and racing will begin at 7:00.
