Hornet World Championship & Topless Sportsman Saturday

The 2015 Hornet World Championship is headed our way and it’s a big one for the four cylinder power plants. Saturday Night, September 19th will feature an increased purse as well a large three-tier championship trophy for the prestigious event. $300 is on the line to the one who can out last the rest and the competition is set to be tough.

Currently, Decatur, IL driver, John Bright, Jr. leads the UMP Hornet standings at Macon with 782 points.  Second in line is Bloomington, IL driver Thad Gee.  Adam Webb, who is coming off of a win on Saturday night, Steven Stine, and Matthew Reed, complete the top five in standings.  Cook Crawford, of Lincoln, IL, is just out of the top five in standings.  Crawford claimed this year's championship at Lincoln Speedway.

Pit gates are set to open at 4pm, general admission gates at 5pm, hotlaps at 6pm with racing scheduled to start at 7pm. The Hornet World Championship is bound to see a who’s-who in the Hornet world, as everyone is ready for the big one.

Not only do the Hornets have some prestige for the September 19th weekend, the Sportsman will also be ready for the rescheduled Topless 40. $600 will be on the line for the division as they make up the event that had been won by rain earlier in the year.  UMP Pro Late Models, Billingsley Towing Modifieds, B-Mods, Street Stocks, and Beach House Micros will also be racing.
