Macon Speedway Prepares For Final Pre-Season Test & Tune
(Macon, IL - April 2, 2015) Racing teams are biting at the bit to get the 2015-racing season underway at Macon Speedway. With the opener fast approaching Saturday, April 18, drivers and crews have a final chance to shake down their rides this coming Saturday at the central Illinois dirt track.
A number of drivers took advantage of track time last Sunday, March 29, despite cold and damp conditions. Nearly 30 competitors were on the premises shaking down Late Models, Modifieds, Mini Sprints, Street Stocks, Hornets, and other machines. Some of those same teams, plus some additional rides are expected to be on hand for the final test date.
Pit gates open this Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 with practice running from 12:00-4:00. Pit admission is $20 for adults and children 11 & under are $10.  Grandstand admission is free.
The opener for the 70th anniversary season of racing at Macon Speedway is set for Saturday, April 18. Pro Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman, and Hornets are on the card. Pits will open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, and racing action at 7:00.
