Track Enterprises schedule in 2015 features Nashville ARCA Racing Series event
MACON, Ill. – With dirt track races at the Midwest’s most prestigious facilities plus a new event on the asphalt five-eighths mile track at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tenn., Track Enterprises is excited to unveil a thrilling schedule for the 2015 racing season.
For the second straight year, Track Enterprises promotes the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event on the .625-mile paved oval at Lucas Oil Raceway in suburban Indianapolis on July 25 plus a new event – the ARCA stock cars on the asphalt oval in Nashville on April 11.
“I’m proud to bring back ARCA racing to Nashville,’’ said Track Enterprises owner Bob Sargent. “Nashville has long been a hotbed for short-track racing. By bringing ARCA back to the Music City, we’re excited about high-level stock car racing to loyal, knowledgeable fans.’’
Track Enterprises also hosts ARCA Racing Series events on mile dirt tracks at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and DuQuoin State Fair in DuQuoin, Ill., as part of doubleheader weekends with USAC Silver Crown Series races. ARCA cars race in the SuperChevyStores.com 100 at the Springfield Mile on Aug. 23, one day after the Tony Bettenhausen 100 for USAC cars. USAC cars race at DuQuoin in the Ted Horn 100 on Sept. 6 before the ARCA Southern Illinois 100 hits the dirt on Sept. 7 to bring the DuQuoin State Fair to a close on Labor Day weekend.
The Hoosier Hundred is the unofficial kickoff to Indy 500 weekend, when the traditional race under the lights at the Indiana State Fairgrounds brings USAC Silver Crown cars to the famed mile dirt track on Thursday, May 21.
Track Enterprises also hosts racing at the famed Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track, the lightning fast half-mile on the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. USAC sprint cars are featured in the Tony Hulman Classic on May 20 and the Don Smith Classic during Indiana Sprint Week on July 15. USAC Silver Crown cars hit the track on July 2. Other dates include the Spring Fling for MSCS/KISS sprint cars on April 26 and UMP Summit Nationals for modifieds on June 7. Other shows may also be added.
Track Enterprises is also involved in historic Macon (Ill.) Speedway. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series appears on April 30 and the UMP Summernationals race on July 9, extending the track’s longstanding tradition of high-level super late models to the fifth-mile high-banked dirt oval. POWRi Midgets race six times, including a July 3-4 doubleheader. Weekly racing brings big crowds as the track that hosts racing for the 70th season.
POWRi shows at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill., on June 5 and Aug. 21 features the popular midget series. Track Enterprises also owns Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway, a fast three-eighths mile track just south of the Ohio River.
