POWRi rained out at Macon Speedway Saturday night, returns here on Sept. 6
MACON, Ill. – Despite the best efforts of Macon Speedway personnel and POWRi officials, the racing has been rained out Saturday night. POWRi will return to Macon Speedway on Sept. 6, so get ready to see some of the best open wheel action in the country.
On Saturday, Aug. 23, the Shrine 50 is a 50-lap feature for Billingsley Towing Modifieds that pays $1,000 to win. Big Ten Street Stocks also race, and along with Outlaw Hornets and Stock Hornets on Saturday, Aug. 23. Following the racing, the Chuck Foley Demolition Derby will bring fans to their feet with rock-em sock-em action that whole family will enjoy. Watch the cars battle in a last driver standing match of power, speed and daredevil moves. Drivers will compete in Bone Stock, Stock and Compact divisions. Pit passes are $30 with no entry fee. The night is a fundraiser for the Shrine Hospital for Children. All proceeds go to the fund to help Shriners kids with their hospital bills and care. So please come have a good time and support a worthy cause.
Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.
The racing doesn’t cool off any time soon. With the Big Ten Series Street Stocks running their final night during the Illinois Street Stocks championship, Aug. 30 is must-see stock car racing. On Sept. 6, POWRi Midgets and Outlaw Micros make their final appearance at Macon Speedway for the season with Outlaw Micros running double features. Scout Night is Sept. 20 with the season-finale on Sept. 27.
