Nichols slices through field to win Sportsman at Larry's Service Center Triple 25's

TAYLORVILLE – After starting at the rear of the field, Jeremy Nichols of Shelbyville charged through the pack to win the Sportsman feature and $800 first-place prize in the Larry’s Service Center Triple 25’s at the Christian County Fair Thursday as stock car racing returned to the fairgrounds for the first time in decades. Nichols handled the quarter-mile track in the 25-lap feature and held off second-place finisher Nick Macklin of Argenta and Wes Odell of Springfield in third.

Kaleb Wood of Sullivan scored the victory in the Big Ten Series Street Stocks feature. Terry Reed of Decatur was second, and Steve Ewing of Decatur placed third. Wood took home $500.

Jeremy Reed of Decatur drove to the win in Hornets and grabbed the $200 pay check. Ricky Carricker Jr., was second with Steve Stine third.
