IHOP hosts street stocks drivers for autograph, photo session Saturday on Pershing Road
MACON, Ill. – The Midwest Big Ten Series street stocks take center stage at legendary Macon Speedway, and you can meet two of the top drivers in the series Saturday morning during a photo and autograph session at IHOP, 1280 E. Pershing Road, Decatur. During each night of racing at Macon Speedway in June, track personnel will distribute coupons for redemption at IHOP in Decatur. With the purchase of one entrée and two drinks, the second entrée is free. When visiting the IHOP on East Pershing Road, ask your server for a $2 off coupon to Macon Speedway. It’s good for general admission during June.
Gene Reed and Terry Reed will show off their cars from 8 a.m. to 10 Saturday. Come meet two of the top drivers in the exciting series. Gene Reed is the defending Macon Speedway street stocks champ, and the Reed brothers are battling Bobby Beiler for the Midwest Big Ten Series points lead. The series also runs at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway, Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway and the Christian County Fair in Taylorville (Ill.) on July 24 for the Larry’s Service Center Triple 25’s.
Heading into the weekend, Gene Reed led the Big Ten street stocks points standings with 118, followed by Beiler (16), Terry Reed (110), Jeremiah Hoadley (102) and Kyle Waters (100). Tom Riech is sixth with 98 points, but he also has a street stocks feature win at Macon Speedway.
So meet the Reed brothers at IHOP, then watch the street stocks at Macon Speedway Saturday night. Billingsley Towing modifieds, sportsman, outlaw hornets, stock hornets, Beach House mini-sprints and the Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will also race. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7. Five ladies from Woody’s will race with the top two finishers advancing to the Bud Light Championship race on Sept. 13. Look for race buckets at the Macon Speedway beer stands. It’s also Heinkel’s Three Dog Night with dollar dogs, a hot dog eating contest and plenty of giveaways.
