Peck ready as polesitter for first of two POWRi features at Macon Speedway Saturday
MACON – The field is set for the first of two features during the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets Series doubleheader at Macon Speedway on May 17 during DynaGraphics Night.
Polesitter Justin Peck and series points leader Chris Bell qualified in the front row before rain forced a postponement during a POWRi night of racing at Macon Speedway on April 26. Besides the POWRi feature races set from the April 26 rainout, Macon Speedway will also run a complete racing program, capped with another set of feature races in the POWRi midget and Outlaw Micro divisions.
Two features for the price of one.
A native of Norman, Okla., Bell leads the POWRi midget standings while Jeremy Camp of Blue Mound entered this weekend with a commanding lead in the POWRi outlaw micros points standings.
Also on May 17, DynaGraphics Night will feature a display of graphics wrapped vehicles by the Decatur-based company and a prize giveaway that's free to enter. Look for the DynaGraphics display behind the main grandstand. UMP Billingsley Towing modifieds, UMP street stocks, UMP outlaw hornets and stock hornets will also race in addition to the POWRi midgets and micros.
Bell battled defending Chili Bowl champion Bryan Clauson and non-wing sprint star Kevin Thomas Jr., Saturday to win the Belleville Bash, a co-sanctioned race with POWRi and USAC stars. With the weather heating up, so is Bell.
