Midwest Big Ten Series late models ready to roar on Teacher's Appreciation Night
MACON, Ill. – The high speed thrills of Midwest Big Ten Series late models return to Macon Speedway Saturday night during Teacher’s Appreciation Night, sponsored by The Teacher’s Lounge.
Steve Sheppard Jr., the defending series champ, leads Ryan Little by a mere two points heading into tonight. Sheppard, of New Berlin, scored the season opening win. One night late, Little overcame a neck injury suffered the previous evening to hold off Sheppard for the victory on the Macon Speedway fifth-mile high-banked oval. It was a tense battle that pulled the fans from their feet.
Teachers are admitted free with a valid school ID, thanks to the Teacher’s Lounge, the one-stop shopping store for all your classroom needs. Teachers and parents can get everything at The Teacher’s Lounge, 2828 N. Main, Suite 101 in Decatur.
Mothers receive a free carnation courtesy of The Secret Garden Florist in Decatur.
Besides the late models, Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Outlaw Hornets and Stock Hornets will also race on the fast track. Both hornets classes will run double features.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7.
Next week on May 17, the POWRi midgets and micros return for a doubleheader at Macon Speedway during DynaGraphics Night. Following a rain shortened event on April 26, the Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Outlaw Micros will run double features, in addition to the full program.
