Macon Speedway makes sure Moms get flowers, Big Ten late models on Mother's Day weekend
MACON, Ill. – It’s Mother’s Day this weekend, and Macon Speedway understands that race fans often get their heads filled with Midwest Big Ten Series late model action rather than taking care of flowers for Mom. No big deal.
Just head to Macon Speedway. We’ll take care of everything. The first 100 mothers to arrive at the track Saturday will receive a beautiful carnation, courtesy of Macon Speedway and Secret Garden in Decatur. So Mom will be happy with a flower, then she will get excited watching Big Ten Series late models in the third race of the 10-event campaign.
Teachers also receive free admission on Teacher’s Appreciation Night, thanks to a generous sponsorship from The Teacher’s Lounge, located at 2828 N. Main, Suite 101 in Decatur.
Ryan Little edged Steve Sheppard Jr., in a tense battle at the track last month in the series’ first appearance on the high-banked fifth-mile oval. Sheppard leads Little 118-116 in the points standings, so the fight is set to continue. Macon Speedway will also host UMP Billingsley Towing Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks and UMP Outlaw Hornets while also racing Stock Hornets. Both hornet classes will run double features because of a rainout on April 26.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7. Get here early to reward Mom.
