Bud Light Ladies Night will crown championship ladies driver
MACON, Ill. – So let’s find out which bar has the fastest girls in town.
More specifically, Macon Speedway wants to learn which local bar has the fastest women race car drivers as part of Bud Light Ladies Night presented by Y103, a season-long series of events capped by a championship race in September. Women will compete in qualifying races while representing a local bar, and the championship winning driver wins a prize package and also a trophy for the bar she represents.
     Women from Rocco’s are featured in the first Bud Light Ladies Night on May 3, when they will battle to advance to the championship. Ladies from Woody’s will race on June 21, Starship Billiards gals are featured on July 12, and Pop’s Place ladies take to the track on Aug. 9. The top qualifiers from each race advance to the championship on Sept. 13, when the ladies battle qualifiers from other bars.
Racing is just part of the attraction during Bud Light Ladies presented by Y103. Women receive half-price admission to Macon Speedway. A lucky lady will get the chance to wave the green flag or get a picture in Victory Lane with the feature winner in late model or modified divisions. Bud Light merchandise giveaways will keep everyone involved, and race fans will also keep an eye out for food and drink specials.
The buildup continues for the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on May 1. The top late model series in the country, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and its national stars will arrive to race against the regional hot shoes and Macon Speedway’s talented local drivers for $12,000 to win and $1,000 to start the feature. Also, NASCAR stars and Macon Speedway co-owners Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will also compete in UMP modifieds, which will race for $1,000 to win. Gates will open at 4 p.m., an hour early to accommodate a big crowd. Racing starts at 7. Tickets are $30 and sold day of the race. RV parking is available, and a midway of souvenir trailers will also generate interest just outside the Macon Speedway main gate.
Macon Speedway is located nine miles south of Decatur on U.S. 51, then 0.6 miles west on Andrews Street, then south to 205 N. Wiles.
