Pull your belts tight for a busy eight days with Macon Speedway, Track Enterprises

MACON, Ill. – It’s a busy eight days for local racing fans, thanks to Macon Speedway and Track Enterprises, Inc.

On Saturday, April 26, Macon Speedway hosts the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, plus the POWRi outlaw micros and four of the Macon Speedway stock car classes. UMP Billingsley Towing modifieds, UMP street stocks, UMP outlaw hornets and stock hornets will also race on the famed Macon Speedway high banks. Gates open at 5. Racing starts at 7.

On Sunday, April 27, the MSCS and KISS sprint cars battle at the fast half-mile Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind., as part of a two-day swing through Indiana. The 30 lap feature will pay $2,500 to win and $250 to start.  At least twenty cars normally start the main event. Gates open at 3 p.m. (Eastern time) with hot laps at 5 and racing to follow. Also, Kenny Wallace will race his UMP modified.

On Thursday, May 1, the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 brings the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to legendary Macon Speedway for the first time. With $12,000 to win and $1,000 to start the feature, the 100-lapper is the richest purse in the 69-year-old track’s history. Watch the national stars battle the regional warriors and local heroes. The inaugural race will likely become a spring tradition at the historic track. UMP Billingsley Towing Modifieds, featuring Wallace and Ken Schrader, will also race for $1,000 to win. Gates open at 4 p.m., so get here early and enjoy the big-race atmosphere.

On Saturday, May 3, it’s the first in a series of Bud Light Ladies Nights. Rocco’s will host the night, and five ladies from Rocco’s will compete in a race with the top two going to the championship in September. It’s also Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, so come to the track with an appetite and find out what Connie has cooked up for you. Billingsley Towing modifieds, Big Ten Series street stocks, sportsman, outlaw hornets, stock hornets and B-mods will also race.

Also on May 3, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series completes a three-race weekend with a stop at Paducah International Raceway for a race that pays $10,000 to win. The 50-lapper will excite the fans as the Lucas Oil late models fly around the fast three-eighths mile track.

Then you can go ahead and take a quick breath, because we’ve got more action in May. Stay tuned.
