MACON, Ill. – Have you ever wondered which divisions are racing at Macon Speedway on the upcoming weekend or needed to learn about the next fun, crazy promotion at the racetrack? Sometimes you just want to know if that rain shower missed the track.
Now it’s never been easier to keep up with the fact-paced, wheel-to-wheel action on the fifth-mile oval or fun in the grandstands, because Macon Speedway is proud to introduce a text service to keep fans and drivers informed.
It’s simple to sign up and easy to use. Here’s how it works. Fans can text MSFANS to 74574 to receive fan information. Drivers text MSDRIVERS to 74574 to receive driver information. Message and data rates may apply.
“Macon Speedway wants to make it easier for fans to get up-to-date information,’’ Macon Speedway promoter Bob Sargent said. “Whether it’s the racing program, promotion or the weather, we know fans must be informed.’’
Macon Speedway plans regular texts on Wednesday to update fans and drivers on the promotions, programs and attractions over the weekend. A text Saturday will also pass along any news or weather updates.
Macon Speedway is one of the Midwest’s most famous dirt racing facilities. Co-owned by Sargent and NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace, the track is a fan favorite for the layout that creates plenty of wheel-to-wheel action. Macon Speedway is located nine miles south of Decatur on U.S. 51, then 0.6 miles west on Andrews Street, then south to 205 N. Wiles.
