Increased Purse and 100-Laps of Thrilling Action Set for St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 at Macon Speedway
WAYCROSS, GA (March 25, 2014) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series scheduled, first ever visit to the historic Macon Speedway on Thursday night, May 1st will now have an increased purse and title sponsorship from St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part. The event, originally scheduled as a 50-lap feature event, will now be a 100-lap $12,000 to win/$1,000 to start feature event. The single-day event will include Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the 100-lap feature event. Modifieds will run as a support class paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start on May 1st.
Macon Speedway, located in Macon, IL, is one of the Midwest’s premier dirt racing facilities. Co-owned by NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace, the track is a fan favorite with a layout that creates plenty of wheel-to-wheel action. The one-fifth mile, high-banked oval will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the first time, while the track will race for the 69th consecutive season. Track Enterprises, Inc. and Macon Speedway Co-Owner Bob Sargent is excited about the event and having the LOLMDS visit for the first time.

St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part has come on board as the title sponsor of this event that will surely be a must-attend event for both fans and racers. The St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 at Macon Speedway will be the first of three spectacular races on the first weekend of May.  After the Thursday night event at Macon, IL, the series will travel to the Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL for a single day show on Friday night, May 2nd.  Following those two great shows, the LOLMDS will conclude the big weekend of racing at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY on Saturday night, May 3rd.  Both Friday and Saturday night’s events will be complete shows with $10,000 to win 50-lap feature events.
