Join Macon Speedway at St. Patrick's Day Parade in Decatur on Saturday
MACON, Ill. – Everyone knows about the green flag. We wave that to start the race. On Saturday, green is for St. Patrick’s Day.
Join Macon Speedway for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Decatur. The event begins at 11 a.m., and the parade is great for kids of all ages who want to have fun and fill their pockets with some candy.
The Macon Speedway float will include the two-seat late model car used for rides on our fifth-mile dirt oval. The show car is also a fantastic display piece to attract crowds to your business or organization.
Macon Speedway opens on April 5. The seventh annual Spring Fling is highlighted by UMP Champions Night and POWRi midgets. Pits open at 4 p.m., and the gates open at 5 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
General admission is free for test and tune practice days on March 23 and March 30.
Racing runs every Saturday night through Sept. 27. Macon Speedway is located nine miles south of Decatur on U.S. 51, then 0.6 miles west on Andrews Street, and south on Wiles. The Macon Speedway Club is coming soon with a new texting service.
