Macon Speedway reserved seat tickets earn discount to Lucas Oil late models
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCH 11, 2014
MACON, Ill. – Here’s a deal that pays off all season for race fans.
Macon Speedway season reserved seat ticket holders receive a $10 discount for the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 on May 1. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series makes its first appearance at Macon Speedway, the historic one-fifth mile banked oval that opened in 1946.
By purchasing a $75 reserved seat for the entire Macon Speedway racing season in the Wayne Webb Memorial Grandstand with a chair back seat, each reserved ticket will allow the race fan to buy a St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 ticket with a $10 discount. The 100-lapper is the only Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event in Central Illinois this season.
“With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series making its first appearance here at our storied track, I wanted to do something special for our loyal dirt track fans,’’ Macon Speedway promoter Bob Sargent said. “Our reserved seats provide a panoramic view of the entire speedway surface. Fans can reward themselves with a reserved seat for the season and a discount to one of our top events.’’
Tickets for the St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100 are $25 for adults and $5 for children 11 and under. Pit admission is $35 for adults. Pits open at 3 p.m., and the gates open at 4. Hot laps begin at 6 with racing set for 7.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is considered the premier national touring sanctioning body for dirt super late models. The series will sanction 47 events in 19 states in 2014. Powered by 800 horsepower V8 engines, nothing is stock about these $75,000 machines that provide dirt-slinging, sideways, door-to-door action lap after lap. Modifieds and B-mods will also race that night.
Macon Speedway is one of the Midwest’s most famous dirt racing facilities. Co-owned by Sargent and NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace, the track is a fan favorite for the layout that creates plenty of wheel-to-wheel action. Located nine miles South of Decatur, Macon Speedway hosts racing every Saturday night, plus many weeknight specials.
St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part opened in 2013, A self-service auto parts yard isn’t new, but it’s new to St. Louis. By allowing the customer to pull the part, St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part passes significant savings to the consumer.
