Recap of Firecracker 40s

(Macon, IL) The Kid’s Castle, 95q Firecracker 40’s and Sun Drop, made for an exciting night of racing.

Midwest Big 10 Late Model series completed a 40 lap-event with Fireworks of their own.  Steve Sheppard jr taking the checker flag Brian Diveley followed to finish second and Kyle Logue, Matt Taylor and Jeremy Nichols rounded out the top five

The Billingsley Towing Modified feature event was full of excitement throughout the 40- lap event. Jeremy Nichols took first place Guy Taylor finished second, Steve Ewing fought hard for third place, Randy Huffman and Kelly Kovski rounding out the top five.

Street Stock feature, Jeremy Nichols was able to hold off Gene Red to take the checkered flag. Bobby Beiler, Terry Reed and Thomas Riech round out the top five

Dave Crawley, Jr. in the Sportsman division is hot, taking another checkered flag. Nick Macklin netted a second-place finish, Mike Pickering in third with Dennis Vandermeersch and Jeremy Nichols making up the top five.

Outlaw Hornet driver Adam Webb claimed first place, he was followed by Elden Hemken, Jeremy Reed, Jerad Matherly and Michael Gossett.

The final race of the evening was the Stock Hornets and it was won by Steven Stine, with Tom Eskew finishing a very close second, Kenneth Reed 3rd, Mike Mc Christy and Tharin Reno rounding out the top five.

A huge fireworks display lit up the dark sky and capped off a perfect night of racing.

Macon Speedway will prepare for July 27th to host the return of co-owner Tony Stewart as he will compete in the MOWA SprintCar series.
