The "King" Richard Petty, Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader, and Kenny Wallace turn out for great night of racing at Macon!

Richard Petty

The "King" Richard Petty, Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader, and Kenny Wallace shared their John Hancocks with everyone who waited in line since 9 a.m. and to a few people who came later with time allowing. The packed stands were treated to an interview from Grand Marshall Petty that did not disappoint, which even came with a few quit-witted barbs aimed at Stewart. All in all a great time for the NASCAR stars, as well as the fans.

The racing did not disappoint either. The Midwest Big Ten UMP Late Model Series made its second appearance at Macon Speedway, ending up with only a ten point difference in the top 5 by the end of the night. Last night Brian Dively (Springfield, IL) knocked Steve Lance, Jr. out of first place into second, followed by Matt Taylor, Steve Sheppard Jr., and Greg Kimmons. The next Big Ten Series race will be Saturday at Macon Speedway.

The Modified race was tight but local favorite Jeremy Nichols edged out a hard charging NASCAR Star Ken Schrader, followed by Danny Smith, Chad Evans and Clark Robertson.

In the Sportsman feature, Nick Macklin was able to hold off Scott Landers, Tim Bedinger, Dave Eckel and Mike Pickering to take the win.

The Street Stocks finished the night with Mike Pickering taking the win followed by Greg Osman, Mike Hodges, Gene Reed and Terry Miller respectively.
